Position: Roadside Environmental Aesthetic Engineering Intern
Location: 1 Wilmington St. Raleigh NC 27601
Internship Duration: 10-week internship (May 27-August 1, 2025)
Organization: North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) - Roadside Environmental Aesthetic Engineering Section
About the Internship: Are you passionate about landscape architecture and design? Join the NCDOT Roadside Environmental Aesthetic Engineering team and gain real-world experience in designing and developing aesthetically pleasing and functional roadside environments. This internship offers hands-on exposure to technical tools, collaboration with architects, and the opportunity to contribute to final design projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the entire team to support landscape architecture development
* Utilize tools such as CAD-MicroStation, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp for 3D modeling
* Assist in creating innovative and sustainable roadside designs
* Work on real-world projects and contribute to final designs
* Learn and apply technical aspects of landscape architecture in a professional setting
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is a motivated student pursuing a degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field. Proficiency in design software (CAD-MicroStation, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp) is preferred, along with strong problem-solving skills and a creative mindset.

* Academic Transcript:
* Provide an unofficial or official transcript that lists your completed coursework, grades, and current GPA. This will help us assess your academic qualifications and areas of study.
* Must be a currently enrolled full-time student in a bachelors, masters, or professional level program at an accredited or recently graduated from a North Carolina Historically Black College/University (HBCU) or Minority Serving Institution (MSI) within the past three years.
* 24 credit hours completed.
* Minimum overall GPA of 2.5 (on 4.0 scale)
