* Position Information
Title: Peer Tutor
Division: Office of Student Success
Department: Kōkua ʻIke: Center for Student Learning
Non-Exempt, Part time
* Position Summary
The candidate will provide individual and/or group tutoring for Chaminade University students, in person through Kōkua ʻIke: Center for Student Learning, or online. The candidate is expected to consider all information, written or verbal, as sensitive and confidential.
* Reports to:
Direct Report to: Tutor Coordinator
Indirect Report to: Associate Director - Student Success
* Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operations
* Greet and direct students and/or office guests to the proper individuals
* Provide administrative support (copying, filing, scanning, etc.)
* Assist in scheduling tutoring appointments, and test/exams/quizzes
* Assist in maintaining cleanliness throughout the center
* Complete other administrative duties or special projects as assigned

* Education and Experience
Minimum
Current and full-time student status with Chaminade University
Student should maintain a current GPA of at least (3.0)
Maintain a minimum of 3.0 cumulative grade point average, received "A" or "B" in subject.
Staff and/or departmental recommendation in subject area (recommendation is required prior to hire; faculty will email tutoring@chaminade.edu directly).
Proficiency in subject course(s).
Must possess excellent verbal and electronic communication skills.
Someone who is creative, can think "outside of the box", work with various personality types, all with minimal supervision.
* Physical Requirements
Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.
* Other Requirements:
This is a Part-time Non-Exempt Student Worker position. The work week will consist of 10-15 hours, 19 hours maximum from Monday through Friday with holidays being the exception. Depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule. Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University. Reports unsafe acts/conditions and injuries in a timely and proper manner.
