Duties
In order to be eligible for this opportunity you must be able to obtain academic credit from your institution OR a third-party stipend of at least $15.00 per hour or higher if the locality you are selected for has a higher minimum wage than $15.00. Duties are listed below:
* Working with the ILAB communications team, which oversees its website and social media as well as all the communications strategic planning and writing, including content creation, design, and social media management.
* Assisting in developing communications materials on ILAB programming, including innovative trade enforcement outcomes.
* Assisting in tracking Mexican labor reform and enforcement case outcomes using ILAB monitoring tools. If language ability permits, review of Mexican documentation to support analysis of allegations of union rights violations.
* Updating and maintaining spreadsheets, guidance, and resources with the Operations and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning teams.
* Helping conduct government cost estimates for procurements and review evaluation deliverables.
* Supporting ongoing stakeholder engagement efforts including updating and managing the stakeholder engagement trackers, communications with stakeholders about OTLA efforts, and project/initiative specific activities.
* Supporting the development and publication of the Department's List of Goods Produced by Child Labor or Forced Labor by working directly on research that contributes to the public's knowledge of goods produced with exploitative labor and global efforts to combat these practices.
* Strengthening and expanding the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning team's Knowledge Portal, which contains listings of ILAB's funded projects, project evaluations, and learnings and resources generated by these projects.
* Supporting the Technical Assistance and Cooperation Unit to develop outward facing materials regarding good practices in OCFT programming.

* Must be at least 16 years old and eligible to work in the United States of America (USA).
* Must be actively enrolled or accepted for enrollment at least half-time at a qualifying educational institution at the time of selection and must maintain such enrollment throughout the duration of this program.
* Must be in good academic standing as defined by the agency as 2.0 GPA or higher.
* For minors aged 16 or 17: If selected for a student volunteer position, you must also submit a work permit prior to coming onboard.

Education
To be eligible for this unpaid student volunteer opportunity, you must be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment on at least a half-time basis at a qualifying educational institution, for the purpose of obtaining a diploma, degree, or certificate. Current students must have a grade-point average of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. If selected, you must maintain a 2.0 or higher-grade point average on a 4.0 scale throughout the duration of the program. You must submit with your application a current academic transcript and/or other official documentation from your academic institution demonstrating your eligibility for selection.
If you do not submit sufficient academic documentation necessary to demonstrate that you meet the eligibility described in this announcement, your application will be deemed incomplete, and you will be ineligible for further consideration for this vacancy.
An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university and vocational or technical institution.

Any applicant falsely claiming an academic degree from an accredited school will be subject to actions ranging from disqualification from federal employment to removal from federal service.

* A Student Volunteer must receive academic credit towards graduation, or must receive a third-party stipend, grant, or other equivalent financial aid for the assignment and the amount must be equivalent to $15.00 per hour, or the minimum wage rate for the geographic area in which the work will be performed, whichever is higher.
* Must have a high school diploma or have an equivalent General Education Development certificate, and are accepted and enrolled on at least a half-time basis at a qualifying post-secondary educational institution (e.g., junior or community college, four-year college/university, graduate school, or vocational training institution);
