The ideal candidate will have technical skills in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, data analytics, applied mathematics/statistics, software engineering, information systems, operations research, or similar areas and will join our department as an Aviation Systems Engineering Intern. As an intern with the Advanced Transportation Operations Optimization team, you will collaborate with Air Traffic Control experts, analysts, and engineers to optimize and integrate airspace operations from concept development through implementation, and to safely and efficiently deliver operational improvements to diverse aerospace stakeholders. You will gain insights into sponsor missions and develop skills to drive problem-solving, innovation, informed decision-making, and operationalization of concepts. The selected candidate will support work involving Federal, State and Local governments, public and private operators, as well as international partners. You will learn and become equipped with technical skills and a strong domain knowledge.
