Archivist Job Description
Overview
An Archivist locates original materials like photographs, documents, recordings and film in order to preserve them for long-term storage. Their role is to coordinate and promote exhibits in special collections and archives, develop displays for special events outside the department, and promote the knowledge and use of the collection by making presentations. Their responsibilities are to assist in fundraising activities, administer and develop existing endowment programs, provide reference services for all collections in the special collections and archives department, help preserve the intellectual and artifactual value of physical archival material, design and manage digital collections ...
