Brand Representative Job Description
Overview
The Brand Representative assists an organization in how its brand is presented to customers in order to increase the brand value. Their role is to direct selling strategies and design special activities for the promotion of the brand and its products. Their responsibilities are to maintain records of all sales, organize various events for consumer sampling, help customers relate to brands, implement marketing activities, prepare reports for all events and inventory, recommend client direction and manage communication, maintain all inventories for various products, and facilitate the representation of all clients.

- It’s beneficial to find a brand that you resonate with. This will make promoting your product easier and more organic. Research specific brands for an area of interest that aligns with you.
- There are certain personality types that match well like being outgoing, personable, naturally likable but you can build skills to overcome this if that’s not your natural self. Developing a strong work ethic and being reliable are more important.
- You likely will often work outside the traditional 8-5, Monday through Friday schedule as events will often happen on weekends and at night. You will be both a participant and host for events, so being a good planner/organizer with good communication skills is also key.
- To represent a brand employers will be as interested in how your image represents the brand as your prior experience. Make sure your resume connects you to the brand and not just your experience to the type of work.
Career Requirements:
My current role is a brand ambassador for a sustainability startup. The requirements for a job like this would be to really enjoy engaging with people, to have strong communication skills, and to really have a passion for what you're doing and for sustainability because you're gonna have lots of interesting conversations with interested people and family.
Career Tips:
Some tips for going into a career like this would be definitely be working in a role where you feel really passionate about what you're speaking about. That'll make it a lot more organic to meet these people and you'll really enjoy the work and meeting like-minded people who have the same interests as you.
Career Motivation:
I was really motivated to work at a company where I really believed in what they were doing and I feel really lucky that every day the work that I'm doing is rooted in sustainability and taking care of the environment.
Unexpected Aspect of Career:
The most unexpected thing that I've been loving about my career so far has been making wonderful connections with people in my local community who really deeply care about the same things as me and also the great friends that I've made at work.
Career Concerns:
Concerns that I have about this role is that I'm just not exactly sure where it's gonna lead me. I don't kind of know the next natural step in my career after being a Brand Ambassador but I am learning a lot about what I like and don't like while in my first year of work since graduating college.
Career Goals:
The long-term career goals that I have are continuing to work in a company where I really believe what they're doing and hopefully have a positive impact locally and globally.
