Drafter Job Description
Overview
The Drafter calculates dimensions, weight limitations, and requirements in materials for production. Their role is to collaborate with architects and engineers to determine the product through structural requirements and designs. Their responsibilities are to describe the production methods step-by-step, prepare and review rough sketches, create detailed designs with computer-aided design software, design diagrams, maps and layouts to illustrate the workflow, ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards, identify potential operational issues, redesign products to improve functionality, and create manuals that describe the existing product's operation, features and mai...
