Materials Planner Job Description
Overview
The Materials Planner determines the required materials for a department, and generates purchase orders. Their role is to verify the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production by coordinating with other departments regarding production goals, timelines and supplier payments. Their responsibilities are to make sure that materials meet specifications, quality standards, and are cost-efficient, manage the tracking of production volume, monitor customer demand patterns and purchasing trends, work as the liaison between customers, suppliers and distributors, schedule and oversee the supply and delivery of materials and products, manage inventory issues, schedule change...
