Math Tutor Job Description
Overview
A math tutor uses their expertise in math to help students improve their learning and mastery of math. Often operating outside of the school system, tutors review homework assignments and other related math content with students, explain ways to figure out difficult concepts and problems, help develop study and time management skills, and organization techniques. Tutors' main goals are to improve students' academic performance in math, and they do this in one-on-one, and in group settings. In addition to working directly with students, tutors correspond with parents and caregivers about students' progress.
