The Assistant provides managers with day-to-day administrative support.  Their role is answering phone calls and managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, and performing secretarial and administrative duties.  Their responsibilities are making travel arrangements, entering data and maintaining databases, managing internal and external correspondence on behalf of senior management, liaising with internal departments, preparing facilities for scheduled events, maintaining an events calendar, copying, scanning and faxing documents, ordering office supplies and replacements, and observing best business practices and etiquette.

I've taken that to managing people and now actually taking over onboarding and doing more HR role, payroll.</p><p><br></p><h2>Role Challenges</h2><p>A Con can be that you can be working under a lot of pressure with a lot of competing demands especially if the company has a lot of internal and external customers. This career is definitely customer service related so if you don't like working with people I do not recommend it.</p><p><br></p>

<p dir="ltr">I'm the general manager for a recycling company. My role is a very hands-on role. There's a lot of strategy and forward thinking involved, but there's also daily instances of having to roll up my own sleeves to help my warehouse team or my drivers.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Operations leaders need to be firm but fluid in their approach. The best laid plans will change in the blink of an eye. You have to be an effective communicator. You're an effective communicator with your team, across your organization and with your customers. You have to have a crisp and clear vision of where you want your operations to go and what will help or hinder you in getting there. You have to be a good people leader even though good is probably a very subjective term.&nbsp;</p>

<p dir="ltr">For our company we offer a salary range of $90,000 to $150,000 annual fee and that's dependent on multiple factors.&nbsp;</p>

<p dir="ltr">I'm an independent contractor and I work in construction. I do both residential and commercial painting and that leads into both interior and exterior repaints and new construction. I don't have any employees, it's just me sometimes I sub out work.&nbsp;</p>

<p dir="ltr">Sometimes my work to life balance is pretty sporadic. Most of the time there's not much life balance if you would. When you are working alone and you're on a kind of a larger project it comes time to get that done and you're going to work the weekends, you're going to work late, when you're outside, you're in the sun all day, you're going to come home tired and you're not going to want to do anything, at least for me that's that's the case.&nbsp;</p>

A Cadet works to become a police officer.  Their role is to perform services as lawfully assigned by their supervisors and other designated members. Their responsibilities are to create a positive command climate to foster trust and mutual understanding, lead their commands through operations to mission accomplishment, train their subordinates, direct subordinates during operations, and continually assess their subordinates.

The Executive Officer makes the decisions for a company in how to manage operations and resources.  Their role is to maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry of the company, analyze problematic situations and occurrences, and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth.  Their responsibilities are to build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders, act as a point of contact for important shareholders, review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements, enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies, make high quality investing decisions to advance the business and increase profits, and lead and motivate subordinates to improve employee engagement.

An Infantry Officer directs attacks, defensive operations, and other tactical missions for the military.  Their role is to maintain the discipline, confidence and welfare of their unit's personnel in order to evaluate the operational situation and lead their troops in executing offensive and defensive maneuvers. Public safety officers may also be required to conduct educational seminars or presentations about crime prevention topics.

A Special Forces Officer is a highly trained and skilled individual who leads, manages and coordinates the operations of their respective military branch’s special forces unit. They are responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring missions as well as providing guidance to their team members in order to ensure mission success. Special Forces Officers must possess excellent leadership skills, extensive knowledge of tactics and strategies used in modern warfare and an understanding of the principles of national security. Additionally they need to be physically fit and have strong interpersonal communication skills in order to effectively lead their teams on complex missions.

The Student works to achieve knowledge in a specific field or industry.  Their role is attending classes on time, being prepared for classes with all necessary supplies, completing all homework assignments, and passing all exams.  Their responsibilities are taking care of school property,  organizing their time, respecting themselves and others, reading regularly, and continually working towards their final goal.
