A bus driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers from one point to another. They must have a valid commercial driver’s license and must be knowledgeable of traffic laws and regulations. <h2>Pros and Cons of a Courier Job</h2><p>The benefits of this job are actually being able to manage your own time, be outdoors, getting exercise.</p><p>So the drawbacks of this are the physical toll that it will take on your body and burnout. It's really tough on your knees. I can speak from experience.</p><h2><br></h2><h2>How to Get Started as a Courier / Driver</h2><p>So if you're straight out of school, you can get a package handler job, but to be a driver they want you to be 21 years of age because you are delivering alcohol to some people and you need to be accountable for that.</p><p>The best time to get in is probably during the holidays when they're doing a lot of hiring. Once you get in, you'll get in as a package handler and they'll work you like a dog on loading cans and onto a conveyor belt which feeds all the trucks. But this is the best way in.</p><h2><br></h2><h2>Courier Job Requirements</h2><p>You should be physically able, physically fit, be able to read a map, follow directions, be able to drive to pass a DOT physical.</p><p>You will be required to take a drug test prior to driving for a logistics company. So it's best that you don't do any recreational drugs. They might be legal in your state, but for DOT that's federal and federal does not allow you to have anything in your system.</p><h2><br></h2><h2>What’s its Like as a Courier</h2><p>As a courier, you'll end up in the building about 6:00 a.m. - 7:00 a.m. Most days you're out of the building by about 8:30 a.m. and you're able to get to your delivery area by 9:00 a.m. and then start into your delivery day. However, logistics are dependent on flights and if your flights are late then you're not leaving the building till about 10 a.m. maybe 12 and you're going to go out with 100 to 200 stops.</p><p>It's a very physical and demanding job and you got to be ready to wear that. Bring a lunch, prepare yourself for long days, but most times you're going to be out there after sundown delivering stuff.</p><p><br></p>

And I picked this job because I just love holding space for people. I love echoing and amplifying the energy of an event so that anybody in the audience can enjoy it as much as they feel compelled to enjoy it.</p><h2><br></h2><h2>Announcer/ Presenter Job Requirements</h2><p>You need to be comfortable talking in front of people and there really is just no easy way to learn that. You just kind of have to learn by doing. But I've learned how to roll with the punches, think on my feet, and really we're all human, we all make mistakes, and I think sharing that authenticity is what allows me to connect with my audience.</p><h2><br></h2><h2>Tips for Getting Started in This Career</h2><p>You become a live event host and MC by putting yourself in those environments, by finding out that you get a charge out of speaking in front of people. You could try an open mic night, you could try going to karaoke, you could try joining Toastmasters. There are a ton of different ways to learn if you enjoy speaking in front of an audience. I would absolutely recommend putting yourself in as many different environments as possible. There are so many different ways to get in front of an audience.</p><p>My career has ranged from the excitement and electricity of combat sports to the warmth and tenderness of a wedding to the sometimes very long days at a tech conference to hyping up fans prior to the Super Bowl. So it's really all about knowing which parts of your humanity to amplify and share with people. And the more you're able to do that, the more comfortable you're going to be on stage, the more comfortable you are on stage, the more fun you have, and the more fun you have, the more fun your audience has.</p><h2><br></h2><h2>My Career Path</h2><p>The path that I took toward this job was not a conventional one. I actually got my start in, believe it or not, professional wrestling, as in TV entertainment-style wrestling. I wanted to be a WWE superstar when I grew up—that was my dream as a kid. And I pursued that dream. I'm still involved in pro wrestling, but I knew I had to be a captivating public speaker if I was going to be a successful professional wrestler. So I studied communications in college. I went from being a petrified public speaker to being nominated by my department to speak at my commencement ceremony. And then from there, it was just off to the races.</p><p>I was a host, ring announcer, and commentator for professional wrestling, then mixed martial arts, then boxing, and then it was music festivals, tech conferences, the Super Bowl, CES, roller derby events, nightlife game shows, and everything in between.</p><h2><br></h2><h2>Pros and Cons</h2><p>Just like any other job, this has some pros and cons. Pros: I love what I do. I get so much excitement out of being in front of an audience, especially a new audience, when I feel like I have something to prove. And knowing I put my time and talent into something that feels good for me and feels good for other people just means the world to me. Another pro of this job: you get to make your own schedule. A con to this job: you have to make your own schedule. There's very little consistency. It's really up to you to make sure you're working the type of schedule you want that also allows you to pursue your financial goals.</p><h2><br></h2><h2>Career Advice</h2><p>If I could go back in time and give myself some advice, it would be not to put so much pressure on myself, which is so much easier said than done. As a performer, it's very easy to focus on the things you get wrong. You could walk off stage and say, "Man, I pronounced that person's name incorrectly," or "I stumbled over these words." It's a great lesson in ownership. And, you know, if you mess up somebody's name, apologize to that person. Tell them it won't happen again. Mean it that it won't happen again. If you miss a cue, if you stumble over some words, it's a chance for you to share your authenticity and humanity with the audience and remind everybody that we're all human. We're all in this together.</p><h2><br></h2><h2>Reasons to Consider This Career</h2><p>But to be in a position to represent a brand, to represent myself, to represent a couple that's about to get married—it is truly a privilege to be in that position. Having that trust and having that belief put in you doesn’t get old. It's always exciting. A Ship Captain operates a sailing vessel, and supervises the movement of passengers or cargo onboard.  Their role is is to monitor the loading and discharging of cargo or passengers, and maintain records of daily activities, personnel reports, ship positions and movements, weather and sea conditions, pollution control efforts, and cargo and passenger status.  Their responsibilities are to assign watches and living quarters to crew members,  inspect vessels to ensure their efficient and safe operation, conduct interviews and hire crew members, calculate sightings of land, signal passing vessels, and maintain boats and equipment on board.

The Yoga Instructor leads classes on yoga instruction.   Their role is to engage in administrative duties, offer training recommendations to improve the practice of yoga, and connect with students during the yoga classes through fun, intelligent sequencing. <h2>Why I Became a Fitness Instructor</h2><p>When I was going to school for a business degree I started teaching classes on the side and teaching fitness classes and I absolutely loved it. I really got to express who I was and I got to have such an impact on other people's lives and I just thrived off of that kind of energy. Later on in my later 20s I was making a career change and I decided to get back into the fitness world which was so much more fulfilling for me because I loved that it gave me an opportunity to do teaching which I enjoyed, to have an impact on people which I enjoy, to bring positive energy. All these things were really really fulfilling for me and I just absolutely loved it.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><h2>Requirements to Become a Fitness Instructor</h2><p>Technically the only requirement is to get a nationally recognized certification which teaches you about maybe 25% of the skills. The rest you kind of pick up as you go or have a good mentor and of course the University of Google.</p><p><br></p><h2>My Fitness Journey</h2><p>I got my certifications in group exercise instruction and teaching spin and then I got certified as a personal trainer. I worked for a company for a little while but within 18 months I decided to go out on my own and start my own company which was originally just private training but then turned more into outdoor fitness classes and that's kind of where we've been thriving for the last 15 years.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><h2>Career Tips</h2><p>Just to be really open minded that you can turn this kind of career into anything that you want with a basis around fitness and helping people.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
