Archaeologist Job Description
Overview
An Archaeologist studies human activity in the past by excavating, dating and determining objects and sites of historical interest. Their role is to establish excavation projects, maintain archaelogical items, and gather data. Their responsibilities are to consult with the project team about laws and regulations concerning cultural resource issues, wash, bag and label artifacts, complete field forms, draw sketch maps, prepare profile and plan view field drawings, make presentations to the public at workshops and other venues, maintain archaeological inventories, perform archival research, testing and evaluation, develop and maintain a cultural resource information base for the field, and c...
