Avionics Technician Job Description
Overview
An Avionics Technician works with aircraft and spacecraft to install, investigate, test and repair the avionics equipment, electronics, radios, navigation systems, and missile control systems. Their role is to work on the communication, navigation, and flight control network that power the aircraft. Their responsibilities are to assemble components such as switches, electrical controls, and junction boxes, use hand tools and soldering irons, interpret flight trail data to diagnose malfunctions and systemic performance problems, install aircraft assemblies and systems, and follow documentation such as blueprints, manuals and wiring diagrams provided by engineers.
