The Buyer evaluates, researches and purchases merchandise such as clothing, electronic goods and food to resell to customers at retail or wholesale companies. Their role is to buy quality products and materials, build strong relationships with suppliers, and negotiate with them for the best pricing. Their responsibilities are to process requisitions, update management on the status of orders, ensure that stock levels are kept at the proper levels, arrange transport of goods, track orders to ensure timely delivery, analyze market trends, and coordinate with the inventory team, stockroom and management.
