An Excavator Operator drives and controls heavy building apparatus, such as forklifts, dump trucks and hydraulic truck cranes. Their role is ensuring the apparatus is operated safely so as not to injure anyone or cause damage to buildings, making minor repairs when necessary, and recording a daily report of inventory and completed tasks. Their responsibilities are checking the filters, ensuring that equipment is greased to keep it working effectively, keeping the work area as tidy as possible, and ensuring tools are clean by collecting any scrap or overloaded materials and disposing of refuse.
