The Senior Model Maker assembles mechanical, electrical and electronic parts into models or prototypes. Their role is to analyze blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine material dimensions, needed supplies, and operation sequences in order to align, fit and join parts to create models. Their responsibilities are to wire and solder electrical and electronic connections and components, rework or alter component model or parts to ensure that products meet standards, record specifications, production operations, and final dimensions of models, devise and construct tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures, and use hand instruments, power instruments, and fabricating machines.
