The Control Room Operator works in the control rooms of bulky plants where they can check all of the operations of the plants to ensure that everything is working properly. Their role is to control the creation and flow of electricity from power plants to businesses, homes and factories. Their responsibilities are to monitor all plant operations on screens and computers, troubleshoots and repair electrical and mechanical equipment, track and record the status of the operating system using applicable journals and control system tools, identify and recommend changes to improve overall plant reliability, performance and output, and adjust plant performance to meet state and federal permits.
