Dental Assistant Job Description
Overview
A dental assistant is a key member of a dental team, and significantly increases the efficiency of a dentist. A dental assistant has broad, and varied responsibilities that may include assisting the dentist during procedures, taking dental X-Rays, taking a patient's medical history, preparing and sterilizing dental instruments, providing patients with oral care instructions before and after treatments, scheduling patient appointments, and office management.
