A Dietetic Technician plans and prepares patients meals, orders food, gives direction nutritional therapy, and documents patient intake. Their role is to develop, implement or suggest nutrition programs for individuals and groups based on evaluations of dietary demands. Their responsibilities are to educate healthcare providers, community groups or students about nutrition through programs and training sessions, discuss with other healthcare experts regarding the dietary modifications or limitations that will best help the patient health, and adjust the dietary plans to fit in with other treatment methods for conditions, illnesses and disorders.
