The Commissioner performs an effective role in facilitating the communication between local govenrment and the community. They are responsible for assisting in identifying and sharing community concerns and needs, attending and voting on policy and procedures, and enacting changes to laws or new laws that benefit the community. Their responsibilities are providing feedback on the usefulness of the commission of state projects, events, resources and publications, sharing the commission of resources of the state to peers and colleagues, and assisting in the collection of the annual state dues and ensuring the dues are in the annual state budget.
