Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) are the first responders in medical emergencies. They provide basic life support, including assessing a patient's condition, providing airway management, controlling bleeding and administering CPR. EMTs also stabilize patients with spinal or head injuries and transport them to hospitals for further care. Additionally, they may respond to calls involving overdoses, childbirths and other medical emergencies. They must be able to work quickly under pressure while maintaining composure in stressful situations.
