Tutor Job Description
Overview
A tutor helps students improve their learning in a specific subject or multiple subjects, depending on the tutor's expertise. Often operating outside of the school system, tutors review homework assignments and other related content with students, explain ways to figure out difficult concepts and problems, help develop study and time management skills, and organization techniques. Tutors' main goals are to improve students' academic performance, and they do this in one-on-one, and in group settings. In addition to working directly with students, tutors correspond with parents and caregivers about students' progress.
