An Information Technology (IT) Consultant is responsible for providing technical advice and guidance to clients on how best to use information technology systems and services. They analyze an organization’s IT infrastructure, develop plans for improvement, implement new technologies, troubleshoot system issues, provide training to users, and work with vendors to ensure the best solutions are in place. In addition, they may be responsible for writing reports detailing their findings and recommendations. As such, this role requires a strong understanding of computer hardware/software applications as well as excellent problem-solving skills.
